Just a quick and dirty outfit post to keep you all amused while I write my little guide to looking vintage as the weather cools down (which I hope will be of interest).
Last Friday, I decided to take a little walk with my mum around the Royal Horticultural Society gardens, and the day was so lovely, I put on one of my unseen (on this blog) Swirl dresses and went barelegged and cardigan-less, for what may be the last time before stockings and woolies become mandatory. I can't wait to go back in three or four weeks and see the spectacular autumn colours!

Vintage Swirl, from eBay,
Sandals from Schuh (I hope they redo these next summer!)
Sunnies from Dead Men's Spex
My hair was on its third day since setting, and before I went I put three hotsticks in - two at the sides and one at the top, just to revive the curl. The back is fairly straight but wavy, as you can see here. You can also see the shape of my cut a little better!

Hope you all had very lovely weekends. I went to a heavy metal bar and missed my last train home because I was having too much fun!
Lots of love,
Fleur xx

May I ask if you will be doing any more hair tutorials? Also, do you have any blog posts on make-up?
ReplyDeleteMany thanks
Did you do a lot of headbanging? ;D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress Fleur. What do you wear to heavy metal bars then?
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks so nice!!! I love this dress too, the colour really suits you, what a perfect last summer dress.

Pretty pretty pretty, and I love the ginormous pockets.
ReplyDeleteWow you're hair is so long now, it looks luverly! x
ReplyDeleteI do like those sandals Fleur & as usual you look lovely. I think you're right though as I write this it's pitch black at 8.15pm & pouring down with rain, so I'm guessing it is with you as we're not so far away! I like getting the sweaters out though, I think I'm essentially a sweater gal but then I'm lucky my mum knits some lovely ones for me!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty, and I love your sandals. I second the request for more hair tutorials please, my hair is about the same length as yours and I don't know what to do with it!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful, as always! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gal! I love that frock :)
ReplyDeleteIt's still winter here in Brazil, but weather has become a tad hotter than expected. And looks like we're on the verge of having one of the hottest summers of the decade. =( These kinds of dresses and skirts would be very suitable for the season. Fortunately, it's become easier to find vintage pattern outfits at stores around here, without recurring to the DIY process. Looks like it's the new fashion craze :)
ReplyDeleteKisses and keep it up! You're always so elegant :)
I'm gonna find some flats and ballerina shoes to match the dresses. We're in the end-of-winter's discount time :)
ReplyDeleteIt's such a perfect Summery dress, perfect for celebrating the last of the warmth. And it's making me look forward to the return of Summer here.
ReplyDeleteso lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress! But I'm mainly in love with your glasses. Hehe. I can't wait 'til I can go cardiganless and stockingless all the time. =D

Thanks gals! How I envy you southerners - unlike most summer is absolutely my favourite season! Apart from the autumn colours!
ReplyDeleteTutorials - as ever, the answer is yes but when? No idea - they take so long for me :(
Heavy metal bar outfit - I went with a friend who was celebrating her birthday and she is a fellow glamorous vintage girl who happens to work for a heavy metal magazine! We started off elsewhere and so I was in my usual vintage. I do still have some old band tshirts so next time I'll wear one of those ! No headbanging but I did try a Jaegerbomb for the first time ;)
Oh you look gorgeous,as ever. That dress is beautiful, but I'm so sad for the end of Summer.
ReplyDeleteI have the blues properly today *sigh*
I love this Swirl! The print is so pretty... Gorgeous, Fleur!!! :)
